Social Media Crash Course!!!

Hey Royals!

I was able to attend Entrepreneur Magazine’s: Social Media Crash Course Breakfast, hosted at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, CA last week. The event featured one of the greatest social media strategists of our time, Starr Hall. Simply put, she is a social networking guru, who has taught us everything we know about using social media to effectively build and grow an online business like Royal Dynamite. RD’s co-founder Cecil was originally slated to be in attendance but being the great partner he is, and knowing my passion for social media, he passed the ticket right over to me. It was a unique experience to network with other e-commerce business owners, exchanging mutual tales of social media frustration, and sharing solutions to common problems.
Starr Hall not only captivated her audience with her humor and interactive personality; she was able to impart useful advice on topics involving advertising, promotion, publicity, marketing, sales, finding target markets, high level networking, building social proof-ness, customer engagement, SEO vs. SEM, video marketing, and analytics! In between sessions, Starr would put on hilarious videos on social media mistakes and mishaps that would send the crowd into fits of laughter and electrifying excitement. There were numerous sponsors of the event, including Deluxe For Business, who gave all the attendees free website evaluations and “Online Marketing for Dummies” handbooks. They also gave away a free Online Marketing Solutions package at the end of the breakfast, valued at almost $300! Sprint Nextel gave attendees free 4G wireless service while at the event, topping off the day with an HTC 4G Droid raffle draw ( :-( I obviously didn’t win).

The RD team is constantly growing and learning, and this event taught us even more on how to effectively make the RD Lifestyle an even more enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend that you sign up for the Entrepreneur magazine and stay tuned for upcoming events in your local area. There is so much to be learned. Thanks to Entrepreneur Magazine once again for an incredible seminar. Cheers!
